Fall Lovin Already

It's amazing how quick the leaves change, turning to magnificent colors, then fall. We took a trip up the Alpine Loop and it was absolutely amazing! I learned that fall colors are actually the leaves true colors. The reason why leaves are green are because of the pigment chlorophyll and the growth of photosynthesis. This process allows growth and reproduction and life! In the fall, the green pigment cycles and the real colors come out. I wonder how often this occurs in our lives. We sometimes where a green cover and get help from others (the sun, water, soil) to grow. Then we cycle and take a change to let our true colors out! Sometimes they stay a while, sometimes they fall quickly, but no matter what, the leaves grow back. It's amazing the life lessons that nature teach. God is the ultimate artist and if we but open our eyes to his teachings, let Him and Christ be our (Son, water, and soil), we will grow beyond imagination!

Here are some photos from the adventure~

As of late.

Update of the Houcks!

Doug and I are working hard and playing hard when we can!

Kami: I just received my diploma from BYU!! It feels so incredible to be finished and to start working in my field. I currently hold 3 jobs. I work as a Recreation Therapist at a boys boarding school, I work as a Mentor/Staff at a girls boarding school, and I work as an on-call operator at a co-ed boarding school. It is unbelievable to be working in my field and getting SO much experience. I love the kids! They are such beautiful children of God and I'm honored to be a part of their journey.

Doug: Doug is going to UVU and working toward his Bachelor of Business degree. He is loving his classes this semester! He has a class from a blind man that memorized everyone's first and middle name, and their 8 digit UVU ID!! Doug said his last name and the teacher spit out the rest! Then the teacher said, if you want to know how I did that, continue coming to class. What a stud! Doug is working part-time at Dick's Sporting Goods as their Golf-club technician. He enjoys it but is looking for another job that gives more hours and doesn't require Sunday work.

We are living in the basement apartment of the Cazeir's house! It's been a blast! We eat dinner with them each night and get to know what it's like to have 5 little girls. Someday's birth control, someday's baby hungry.

Things are peachy! Each day is an adventure and we are letting God guide us!

Let go and let God. Hmmmmm....
